What a useful great way to spend an afternoon learning practical diy drill skills. Dave was a great tutor. He explained it for me in my language (blonde & senior). Attended a painting/decorating class with Dave today. A fun & very informative session. Lots of useful tips & Dave's relaxed teaching style gave me the confidence to make a start on painting my home myself. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn the basics and to gain confidence. Lots of other useful courses on offer too. Highly recommend.

I have no experience in decorating, after today I feel comfortable in going ahead and redecorating my bedroom after recent building works. Dave is a great teacher, the combination of explain, show and do is an ideal formula. I am delighted and surprised at how much I have learnt. I will be booking more courses with How To Basically.

Dave is a really good teacher. By the end of the session I was able to complete all the practical tasks and not one of them leaked. I have now got my own problematic taps sorted at home and feel confident to undertake any more plumbing tasks as they arise. The course was money well spent

A fantastic course, super useful. Dave is very friendly and makes complicated plumbing / building tasks seem simple. Can recommend for anyone whether you just want to be able to fix a simple blocked sink / light to replacing pipes and valves. Also just a great day out.

Power Drills course Saturday 5 October 2024
I went from being a complete novice to having the confidence to tackle jobs involving drilling at home. The course is taught with humour and patience by experienced handyman Dave Critchley and all 4 attendees were able to get plenty of hands on drilling practice. You can learn bits and pieces online but it’s definitely better to have a professional standing nearby with encouragement and advice as you drill into something! Once I’ve bought a drill this experience and knowledge will save me money and time in the future.

I had such fun in How to Basically’s Pallete woodworking class. It's a warm and friendly environment where I learned a ton of new tips and techniques. I will definitely be back — the plumbing class looks amazing.

I attended the drill workshop at How to Basically and I can't recommend it enough! As someone who is pretty new to DIY the pace/delivery was perfect and I felt there was ample time to try out everything we had learn for ourselves and ask any questions we had. The facilities were great and the instructor was fantastic at explaining everything clearly and making the information relevant and interesting as well! Will definitely be booking onto more courses here in the future!
