Alpha X recently provided the Responsible Welding Coordination two-day course, in accordance with BS EN ISO 14731:2019 and BS EN 1090-2:2018 for the first time. I can honestly say, it did not disappoint; the course was incredibly informative and the coaching was perfect for suiting every members previous experience levels. Alpha X Industrial Service successfully planned and implemented ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and BSEN 1090 into the operations of Redpath Mining.

To begin the implementation process, Alpha X Industrial Service conducted a comprehensive assessment of Redpath Mining's existing processes and procedures. This allowed alpha x to understand the organization's strengths and areas for improvement in relation to the ISO standards. Based on the findings, they developed a tailored implementation plan.

ISO 9001 is focused on quality management systems, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting their requirements consistently. Alpha X worked closely with Redpath Mining's team to identify key quality objectives and develop the necessary policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001. This involved conducting regular internal audits and establishing a document control system to maintain updated records.

ISO 14001 is centered around environmental management systems, promoting sustainable practices and minimizing the environmental impact of an organization's activities. Alpha X Industrial Service assisted Redpath Mining in conducting an environmental risk assessment and implementing effective controls to mitigate any potential negative impacts. This included waste management protocols, energy conservation measures, and promoting environmentally friendly practices among employees.

ISO 45001 focuses on occupational health and safety, aiming to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees. We worked closely with Redpath Mining to identify potential hazards and develop robust health and safety policies and procedures. This involved creating a comprehensive risk assessment framework, implementing safety training programs, and establishing emergency response protocols.

Lastly, BSEN 1090 specifically addresses the requirements for CE marking and structural steel fabrication. Alpha X Industrial Service worked closely with Redpath Mining's welding team to develop Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to ensure compliance with BSEN 1090. We also coded the welders according to the required standards and provided ongoing training to ensure consistency and quality in the welding processes.

Throughout the planning and implementation phases, Alpha X Industrial Service collaborated closely with Redpath Mining's team to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and BSEN 1090 standards. Regular monitoring and evaluation were conducted to identify areas for continuous improvement and ensure ongoing compliance with the standards.

By successfully implementing these ISO standards, Alpha X Industrial Service has helped Redpath Mining enhance their overall quality of operations, demonstrate their commitment to environmental sustainability and employee safety, and meet the demanding requirements of structural steel fabrication. AlphaX recently undertook some none-destructive testing on the boiler of our steam locomotive. This was required by the boiler inspector as part of the ten yearly boiler survey. Stuart was diligent in his approach and undertook a very thorough examination. The report was clear and the boiler inspector was delighted with the format - as well as the results!

I would have no hesitation in recommending AlphaX and will certainly be using them for any similar work in the future.
