Normally this store is really good but some of its main fridges have been out for about a week now. I believe they have items in the back that you can ask for but they have not positioned sufficient staff to assist customers. They are losing sales and customers- come on Tesco, do better.

A very modern bright Tesco store near the centre of Whitehaven. Visited here for the first time today. Costa, pharmacy and petrol station on site. The pharmacy is particularly well appointed and is run by friendly staff. The store is well laid out in general and benefits the customer by making it easy to navigate around the place. Again, friendly and helpful staff on hand 👌 nice store.

Loved doing my shopping here after having my baby, probably the only place for a 20 mile radius where I actually felt comfortable using the changing facilities

A fairly big supermarket with most groceries available. Also has household items, stationery, and some clothes.
Some empty shelves in evidence when I visited today.

This has to be the worst Tesco we have visited. On Saturday, at lunch time, we drove into the car park. What a convoluted, narrow, cockeyed system this was. Thank goodness we had a small car to park as it was so cramped it was difficult to maneuver.
From there we went into the cafe, looked at the lunch menu and decided to order two medium breakfasts. We got to the counter only to be told that we couldn't have that because the ovens were off for cleaning. So, we asked about toasted sandwiches and were told that we couldn't have those either ecause they use the same ovens. Cold sandwiches? No they don't sell them in the cafe.
The store was also icy cold.
I needed some Arnica cream so went to the pharmacy and asked if they sold it. I was told that yes they did but I couldn't buy it because the pharmacist was on their break. I also needed some Savlon which they didn't have but they had Germolene and although I could buy it, I couldn't pay for it at the Pharmacy, I had to pay for it elsewhere!!!
The weird thing is that Arnica cream is on the open shelves at our local Tesco and it was the Pharmacist who directed me to it.

A very modern and clean store. The staff are good however what lets the store down is that the stock is not there sometimes and you have to go elsewhere to get what you need.

Took an item, Madagascar vanilla essence, from reduced section to price check at self service tills in Whitehaven as all checkout operators were busy. Reprimanded sharply by assistant and told to queue at checkout to price check.
Surely the answer would be to label reduced yellow ticket priced items before placing them on shelves. There was a whole box of these items and no shelf label. Alternatively provide a price check screen.
Why is it always the customers’ fault when you are slovenly?
