The service never worked, I tried to cancel and they were trying to charge me £100 for cancelling a service they never provided. They take money from your car with no permission, they took the cost of the router from my card and wouldn’t return it until I had paid for postage of the router and returned. They are an absolute shambles of a company. You can’t ever speak to anyone because there phone lines don’t work. Honestly don’t waste your time with these lot

1pbroadband handled the switch and cancellation of my old broadband provider which made the process of switching very easy. The router was delivered by DPD a few days before the go live date. I plugged in the 1pbroadband router at 6:45am on the go live date and manually configured the router with the settings that 1pbroadband had emailed me when the router was dispatched and the broadband worked straight away without any downtime which was good.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
Nick T, 02 October 2023

I switched broadband provider due to chronic problems. The changeover was handled by TML (1p Broadband). They gave me a go-live date of Friday 29 September 2023. Unfortunately the switchover did not happen until 20.00. No internet when I plugged in new router. So I contacted the "24/7" tech support. I rang 17 times on Friday. I rang Tech Support 34 times on Saturday and Customer Services 7 times. I range Tech Support 12 times on Sunday and Customer Services 4 times. Monday morning 2 October I started ringing both numbers at 08.00. I rang Tech Support 10 times and Customer Services 15 times. That totals 99 unanswered calls for those of you who are bored. Unbelievable. Finally answered phone at 09.00. Took 2 minutes to resolve the problem. I should add that the router which I was advised had been sent at 00.14 hours on 23/9 did not actually get despatched until Monday 25/9 at 17.00 according to Royal Mail tracking. It did not arrive until the day prior to go-live date, i.e. Thursday about 15.00. I am already regretting my decision. OFCOM complaint will follow.

Customer service: Can not review as not required to contact them.
FTTC 80Mbps Broadband: Reliable and no different from previous suppliers so 5* from me. No issues with supplied router.
2x mobile SIMS (technically 1pmobile): No issues - working well with WiFi calling.

I had some emails with them about possibly taking their broadband service. (also separate emails about maybe taking their mobile service) Couple of observations:

> They are a subsidiary of Utility Warehouse and the 1pBroadband Facebook page says that they started 1p Broadband in Jan 2020.

> All the staff there are called Penny - which is a nice play on words but very disingenuous. It's literally every email you get. They obviously have more than one member of staff.

> When they reply to emails your original query and the thread have always been cut out.

> They turn tenants away from getting their broadband service and give it to homeowners only. When i pressed them on this: they said they were willing to make an exception for me and asked for my tel # so that someone could call. I gave it to them but they couldn't be bothered to call, really.

> Their broadband prices go up by £1 a month on every 12 month anniversary. That isn't the end of the world - but in a comparison table on their site it says that the price stays at 19.99 'out of contract' implying it never changes, which it does. It certainly cannot stay the same and go up.

> I will not buy my broadband from them. It was like emailing with some kids who were playing with their first toy computer and designed a website with it. I only found them because a friend found the 1p mobile site.

Called tech support as the router had stopped working as faulty. The operators take your details and an engineer is meant to call you back but never does. 5 attempts so far to get them to call... Obviously when the everything works the offering is fine but clearly if you have a problem they are not responsive to fix it.

No good. Router not working from the off, Tech Help useless. get more sense from CS. Gone to another USP after 3 days of hassle. Not a patch on 1pmobile unfortunately.

Router never worked at all. 2nd router they sent, also, did not work. They made some excuse about engineering works! Luckily, I cancelled inside 14 day cooling off period.
